Jean-Marc Nattier framed and matted print under glass of Victorian woman with bow and arrows by waterfront marked on bottom "J.M. Nattier", 23.5"dia. Bio from AskArt: Jean-Marc Nattier (1685 - 1766) was born in Paris, France. Under the protection of Louis XIV, he began to make drawings of the Rubens Gallery of the Luxembourg. Offered a brilliant position in Rome, he preferred to remain in Paris, but in 1715 he was summoned to Amsterdam where he painted the Czar and Czarina of Russia, as well as Peter the Great. They wanted to take him to their country, but again he insisted that his place was in Paris. In 1734 he became painter to the Chevalier d'Orleans. Having lost his fortune through speculation, he produced only portraits, instead of the historical works that had much engaged him previously.

Five Roland Clark engravings of ducks and quails, signed in pencil lower right "Roland Clark", one marked on lower left "Xmas 1925", one marked on lower left "Xmas 1933", sizes range from 5.5" x 4.5" to 9" x 8". Bio from AskArt: Roland Clark (1874 - 1957) was born in New Rochelle, New York. He graduated from the William Kellogg School in New York City, then pursued his formal art training studying drawing and painting at the Art Students League. His sporting paintings and etchings soon brought him international acclaim and in 1938 he was asked to create the Federal Duck Stamp design. In addition to his legendary artwork, Clark was an accomplished writer. His first autobiographical collection of sporting articles and short stories was titled "Stray Shots". It was published in 1931 and was illustrated with thirteen original etchings by the artist. It has become on of the most valued sporting books of all time. "Stray Shots" was soon followed by the beautifully illustrated "Gunner's Dawn" and "Pot Luck". Clark is now regarded as one of the 20th centuries finest sporting artists.
